The concept that life is short is a strange one… On the one hand, of course it is short, we only get one, lives are really in short supply so we must not waste time or chances. On the other hand, a lifetime is the longest thing we will ever experience, whatever decisions we make will be carried with us until the end, there’s no escape, and that is a very long idea indeed.
